The project is for the development of student accommodation comprising 32 ‘House’ units ranging in size between 5 bed space and 8 bed space units - 217 bedrooms in total comprising 212 single bedrooms (including 5 disabled rooms) and 6 twin bedrooms, together with ancillary student accommodation facilities, such as social space, gym (and associated changing areas), pool room, laundry room, management office, etc. (6,376.28sqm in total); café with ancillary take away at ground floor level(199sqm) with associated external seating; and electrical substation and switch room (20.52sqm)
The total gross floor area of the proposed building will be 6,595.8sqm.
The development also consist of
The erection of 3 signs, with rear illumination on the north and south elevations (measuring approx. 8.66sqm each) and 1 stainless steel standing lettering sign on the west elevation (measuring 2.14sqm); the provision of a signage zone also to the west elevation measuring 14.13sqm.
The development will be completed by boundary treatments, vehicular and pedestrian access via Church Street; 2 disabled access car parking spaces; cycle parking; associated lighting, site servicing (foul and surface water supply); the provision of SUD’s measures, including the installation of an underground rainwater harvesting tank, an attenuation tank and sedum roofs, and courtyards at basement/lower ground floor and ground floor levels.
The scheme also includes all hard and soft landscaping; lighting; changes in level; and all other associated site excavation and site development above and below ground.
The scope also encompasses work to the adjacent residential development of St Michan's House and includes the installation of electronic gates, repairs to the playground surface and the provision of a new 5-a-side football pitch.
