When Emirates Airlines figures reached 160,000 passengers and 6,000 tonnes of cargo on the Dublin/Dubai route it became clear that they needed a new office in Dublin, and that they needed it immediately.

‘Immediately’ was negotiated to the extraordinarily short time frame of six weeks, with a budget of €328,000.

Prestige Site, State-of-the-Art Office

Hume Street in the St Stephen’s Green area of Dublin 2 now houses Emirates Airlines’ new corporate hub and public booking office in Dublin.

The specifications were both detailed and demanding. The new office needed to replicate the International Office brand that the company uses through the world.

The fit out included a new general office and ticketing department, a staff canteen and changing rooms, a communications room and storage areas. The joinery work, which was carried out by the specialists at GEM Joinery, required the installation of paneling made of the African wood Wenge, (which is also known as Panga Panga, Awong and Mpande), and glazed partitions, both solid and frameless.

“Comfortable Surroundings for Customers”

It was important to the client for customers to be able to meet staff in person, in comfortable surroundings, to discuss their requirements and arrange the details of their bookings.

Margaret Shannon, Emirates Airlines’ Country Manager Ireland, expressed herself as ‘absolutely delighted’ with the new office.
