The New Students' Centre will be the first new building at LSE for more than 40 years. It will be constructed on the site of the current St Philips buildings within the campus and gives every indication of being an exemplary piece of architecture that is innovative, sustainable and inspirational, and which will be at the forefront of 'Contemporary Westminster’. The striking building design is by Irish architects O'Donnell & Tuomey, supported by an excellent design team.

GEM Group have been awarded the design and installation of the complete external timber facade and entrance canopy. This involves design of all elements of the jatoba hardwood curtain walling system to CWCT test standards, including bespoke fixing system.

The canopy design includes for mild steel, jatoba, and glass to be a focal point of the entire building programming for this complex installation of the façade on a restricted London site and the interface of same with the building management system for control of both heating and ventilation.
